GradePlanner reads your grades from Schoology with your approval, never your password. It shows them to you and the family Schoology links to you, with the plans you save. Nobody else gets them except Cloudflare, which hosts the app. We don't sell data, show ads, or train AI on it. Email us and we delete it.
What we collect
When you sign in with Schoology and approve GradePlanner, we receive your name, email, Schoology user ID, role, school, and building. For a parent, the children Schoology links to you. For a student, their classes, grading periods, categories and weights, grading scales, assignments with due dates and points, grades, flags such as missing and excused, and course grades. We don't read messages, discussions, attendance, files, or calendars. We also keep what your family enters: goals, plans, expected scores, "turned in," "not doing" with its reason and note, and notes, each with who entered it and when.
How we use it
Only to show your grades and plans in GradePlanner and to calculate projected grades from your plans. We keep a copy of the grades and a history of how they change. While a student's Schoology approval is connected, we update their copy about once a day if someone linked to them used GradePlanner in the last 30 days, and when someone linked to them opens it and the copy is more than an hour old.
Who can see it
A student sees their own data. A parent sees the children Schoology links to them. Every plan and note about a student is visible to that student and every parent linked to them, with the author's name. A student can't hide an entry.
Who else gets it
Schoology, which is the source, and Cloudflare, which hosts the app and the database. No one else, unless the law requires it. We don't sell data, show ads, or use it to train AI models.
Where it's stored
In the United States. Schoology approvals are encrypted. The public pages (home, privacy, terms) contain no student data.
Cookies
One sign-in cookie that lasts 30 days, and a short-lived record while a sign-in is in progress (10 minutes). Page analytics from Cloudflare use no cookies and receive no grades or names.
How long
Until you ask us to delete it. Disconnecting a Schoology login stops updates and deletes the stored approval right away; the grade copy and plans stay until you ask. Schoology approvals also expire on Schoology's schedule, currently about 90 days.
Deleting
Email support@gradeplanner.com. We delete your account, sessions, and the plans and notes you wrote. A student's grade copy is deleted once no other connected account is linked to that student.
Students and children
We only receive what a student's or parent's own Schoology login returns, plus what they type into GradePlanner. We share nothing with third parties beyond hosting. A parent can see everything about their child in the app, and can ask us to delete it.
If we can't let you in yet
We keep your email and the name, role, and school Schoology sent, so we can let you in later.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date above.
