GradePlanner

Frequently asked questions

Answers about how GradePlanner works with Schoology. Something missing? Email support@gradeplanner.com.

What is GradePlanner?

An independent companion to Schoology for students and parents. It puts every current grade on one screen, shows what's due, and lets your family save plans for retakes, late work, and goals. Schoology stays the official gradebook, and GradePlanner isn't made by PowerSchool or your school.

Who is it for?

Students and their parents or guardians at schools that use Schoology. You sign in with the Schoology account you already use.

Is it free?

There are no ads and nothing to buy in the first release.

Does it change anything in Schoology?

No. Your grades, submissions, and messages in Schoology stay exactly as they are. Plans you save in GradePlanner stay in GradePlanner.

How does signing in work?

You sign in on Schoology's own page and approve GradePlanner there, so your password stays with Schoology. You can remove that approval in Schoology at any time. Schoology asks you to approve again about every 90 days.

How do parents see grades?

Parents see classes and assignments right away. Once a student signs in with their own Schoology login, grades appear for every parent Schoology links to them.

How current are the grades?

GradePlanner refreshes grades about once a day, and whenever you or a linked family member open the app and the copy is more than an hour old. Every screen shows when it was last updated.

What is a projected grade?

GradePlanner's calculation of where a class grade would land based on your plans: a retake score, a goal, or work you've turned in that isn't graded yet. It's a guide, not the official grade, and it updates when teacher scores change.

Who can see our plans and notes?

The student and every parent Schoology links to them. Each plan and note shows who wrote it.

Can I connect more than one Schoology account?

Yes. If your children are on different Schoology logins, you can connect each one and see every child in one place.

What does GradePlanner keep?

Your Schoology profile, classes, assignments, a copy of your grades with their history, and the plans and notes your family saves. It's stored in the United States. The full list is in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

Email support@gradeplanner.com and we'll delete your account, sessions, and the plans and notes you wrote.
